Without signing in, a session doesn't reach your history: after it ends you can copy the code, or sign in within 7 days on this device.

* Notices switches to another tab, window or app, copying and pasting text from outside, screenshot shortcuts, a small browser window (another one may be open beside it) and sharp window resizes — but not every method. The candidate sees a notice and agrees; the interviewer sees the events during the session, then a summary in the history and marks in the recording. An event is a reason to ask, not proof of cheating. A free account turns monitoring on in 3 sessions a month, plus one more for each monitored session whose evaluation answers the cheating question (any answer, “Unsure” too).

The interviewer writes the task and sees the candidate's code live. Both see the run and its output.
Interview mode: tasks from the bank, a timer for each; save the set as a template.
The result in your history: code for each task, scores and the final verdict.
Interview history in your account: every interview with its verdict.

Frequently Asked Questions

CodeShare is a free online code editor for conducting technical interviews. Multiple participants can write and edit code simultaneously in real time.

11 languages are supported: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, C++, Go, Rust, C#, Pascal, BASIC, and SQL. All languages have syntax highlighting and code execution.

Not for an interview: create a session, send the link, write and run code together. The task bank and practice are open without an account too. Signing in (free) adds your own tasks, interview mode with a playlist of tasks, notes and scores, session history, links that keep working for a day after everyone leaves, the whiteboard and activity monitoring.

Up to 5 participants can be in a single session simultaneously. Each participant sees the cursors and changes of others in real time.

Yes. Code runs in an isolated sandbox with strict resource limits — memory, CPU time, and process count are all capped. Your code cannot access the host system or other sessions.

Create a session and send the link to the candidate. Write the task right in the session or pick one from the task bank, no account needed. After signing in you can build a playlist of timed tasks and turn on activity monitoring. Write and run code together — a signed-in interviewer finds the code, notes and scores in their history afterwards.

As long as someone is in the session. A session created after signing in survives everyone leaving and server restarts: its link works for up to a day after the last visit. Without an account a session closes 5 minutes after everyone leaves. An ended session does not open again; a signed-in interviewer finds it in the history.

It is the stage of a technical interview where the candidate solves a task and writes code while the interviewer watches. In CodeShare, live coding happens online in a shared editor: you both see the code and the run output, and the candidate never signs up.

CodeShare has a bank of 2234 tasks with hidden tests, plus tasks that other interviewers share. No mandatory registration, 11 languages with real code execution, and real-time collaboration — all in the browser.
